” You’re not small, you’re Travel-sized”- my sister, Chantelle.
I like to think of myself as being born to travel the world. My parents conceived me on their European Honeymoon and almost named me Paris ( for the location of consumation, perhaps?) During college I briefly minored in Foreign languages concentrating on French and Italian. I love Bollywood movies, Indian Food, Wine, I adapt well to my environments ( or so I hope!) and I love to write. If that doesn’t spell out ” destined to travel write” I don’t know what can.
I am what most call a “veteran blogger” whose fingers love to tap dance on the keyboard all day long. I have a few other blogs floating on the web like this one and this one. Bottom line- I’m just a girl in her mid-twenties who is about to embark on the trip of her life and wants to take you with her; Like a Travel-sized companion. So, join me and experience all my emotions, joys, and turbulance in a land where it rains droplets of Rioja Red Wine, the streets are paved with Paella and the World’s Best Ball-kickers live; ¡España!
That being said, I thought I’d start off with a little background about my decision to move to Spain and catch you up on a few things:
One afternoon, in my cubicle at work ( I work in the Media industry), I came across this video
This video struck such cord in me, my idea of success and future. I had done exactly what the video speaks about. Although I had I had finally arrived to the corporate world and still didn’t feel like I had. I knew that I wanted to enjoy the ‘melody’ my life was creating. I felt that most people were satisfied going through the typical rites of passage ( college, marriage, family, job) but, I was unsatisfied. My cubicle walls were inching closer toward me by the minute and I knew I had to break out and swim in the bigger ocean.
After much research and strategic planning, I decided that I would move to Europe, because my origins were there (literally from conception) and my heart was always drawn there. I wasn’t sure what country but slowly started inching toward my final decision to Spain. It was no brainer seeing that I could study and better my Spanish language ( I am bilingual) and could eat all the Paella and drink all the Rioja wine I wanted. Plus, I had some distant family relatives living there that would give me an ounce of security if I needed them in a pinch.
So, I decided. I’m moving to Spain.
